Join the Eyes of Bastet as they host a fun-filled day of bellydancing!

We’re hosting the ever-talented Amara & Zoria from Troupe Duende in Kansas City to come & teach two fabulous workshops!  Then join us after lunch for star-studded show featuring our teachers, local dancers, and the Eyes of Bastet!  All proceeds from the show will go to benefit the Crisis Center in Manhattan.

8:30 – Registration starts

8:45 – Warm-up starts

9:00 – It's a Bollywood Blitz! with Zoria

Bollywood is a fusion of classical Indian dance, American hip hop,   and traditional and nontraditional belly dance styles. Whether this is your first Bollywood class or you’ve studied previously, you’ll learn some new technique, a little history, and a fun new choreography in JUST an hour an a half. Wear comfortable clothes and support (for whatever needs it), and get ready for the Bollywood  Blitz!

10:30 – Break

10:45 – Fusion Flourishes with Amara

Combos suitable to put in your choreography, to take apart gear by gear and join with your own stylings, or fit straight into your ITS vocabulary! A challenging mix of layers and fast and fun brain- and body-challenging spring-loaded moves!

12:15 – Lunch Break

2:00 – Show Time!

About our featured instructors:

Zoria has been dancing for 5 years and has danced with two professional dance troupes. She's studied cabaret, tribal, spanish fusion, bollywood, gypsy and just about anything else you can think of! She fell in love with Bollywood before her dance training began and even used Indian traditions at her wedding! She hopes you enjoy learning as much as she enjoys teaching!

Amy Jo (Amara) has been teaching dance for 6 years. She spends 8 hours a week teaching dance classes and many more puttering with dance at home. She loves to mix and match her dance styles and brings a soupcon of many flavors to her dance stew. Her most important goal is to have fun with her brain and body, and to make her students realize they should do the same!
